Our history

Protection Incendie Idéal was established in 1992 by Gilles Lafrance and Daniel Gravel, two experts in the installation of automatic sprinkler systems. Both coming from a family working in the fire protection industry, they decided to start their own business and together founded their own company. They started out with a dozen employees and a small branch in Laval. Over the years, the company has gained many clients, which has allowed them to hire more employees and expand their facilities. After 30 years of experience, the company now has clients all over the Quebec province. It is currently home to 140 employees, has a head office in Laval, a branch on the outskirts of Quebec City and a division in Sherbrooke under the name Gicleurs de l’Estrie.

Company Journey

1992

Creation of the Protection Incendie Idéal company and the purchase of the first branch on Lindberg Street in Laval.

2006

The company moves to 1095 Berlier Street, our current head office. Acquisition of a new building and infrastructure.

2012

Idéal expands its Laval branch building, creating a second floor for design and engineering employees.

2014

First contract secured of over a million sprinklers, for the expansion of the Montreal airport.

2016

Acquisition of the Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures branch located on the outskirts of Quebec City.

2017

The company celebrates its 25th anniversary.

2018

Idéal becomes a medium-sized company, passing the required number of hired employees.

2019

Purchase of an automated robotic welder in order to accelerate production at the Laval factory.

2021

Acquisition of the Gicleurs de l’Estrie company in partnership with Marc Provencher.

2021

Record annual number of projects carried out by Protection Incendie Idéal.

Our machining workshops

Protection incendie Idéal has three machining workshops where the design and manufacturing of parts and sprinkler systems takes place. Our branches, located in Laval, Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures and Sherbrooke, also give us the space to store a large quantity of stock to ensure fast and efficient service to our customers throughout Quebec.

We offer a complete range of fire protection services: design, manufacturing, installation, maintenance and inspection of automatic sprinkler and fire alarm systems.
